The server wouldn’t
be what it is without Steve, he worked very hard at keeping it running
smoothly, he really was a clever bean, he made me laugh as well as tetchy at
times but we always talked even when irked at each other, long hours late into
the night for him but early morning for us talking about this and that as well
as sharing things we liked, the many hours made us all friends yet we only
really knew a little of each other in the very short time we were a team, he
shared his love for nature and told wonderful stories about things he has done,
he made me laugh with his wicked humour even when in great pain he still tried
to help the server, without telling us how much pain he really was in, that is
the one thing he didn’t really tell us about, how bad the pain was, we miss our
friend and his caring attitude for the players under all our care, the server
was and will always be his as no one could ever replace him.
Strider
It took a while
before I knew he had a cat, when I asked what her name was he said ‘cee a t’ or
just cat, so I renamed her for him (as you do) she was always there with him
through the good and bad times, fluffed his hair and groomed it when he’d
showered and generally made a fuss of him, he said she’d often want to be alone
for a few days, hiding in a room but she was there, the stories he told about
her antics always made me smile from climbing over his keyboard when he was
typing to sitting on his head, she must miss him as much as anyone seeing as
she was with him at home always, Steve would be happy to know that his brother
and co workers worked together to find Princess a home.

Over the time we have
been on minetest we have gone on a fair few servers, some we liked more than
others, one idea that we liked was on IFS
IhrFussel's Server, his mine is where our ore room idea came from
but when we found SONOS that is what felt like home and for the most part where
we have been since finding it, we have met some really lovely players, like a
patchwork rug of people we are all different but shared a like or love for the
server and are a family of sorts, at times a crazy dysfunctional family but
still one that I am happy to have been a part of, it is the feeling like a
family that Steve often spoke about in regards to the Free Pizza Server, we had
many players that came on and already knew Steve from that server, they’d talk
about the good and bad times and would have loved to have got it going again but
it would not have been the same server without the original owners input it
would be just a shadow of its former self.

you boys, clever, outspoken at times but good builders, always willing to help
other players especially the noobs who didn’t know what to do.

which for me at least was difficult to translate our rules to him, which BB
broke countless times, could track you across the whole map just to beg for
stuff or decide to build next to you, it didn’t matter how many times he was
jailed or had privileges revoked for his many rules broken he always came back
to the server.
Sofix3 and clan,
another good builder, also very patient with me when I spoke Spanish instead of
Portuguese I will miss the very beautiful builds that she has done on the
server.

The server although run by English speakers was
always open to all languages which has only added to the richness of how the server
is, seeing everyone chatting in their own languages and trying vainly to keep
up with them all when they needed admin help has been both fun and frustrating
at times, Steve often helped me out with the German as he understood that
better than Google did, he’d often say something to me in German to see if I
had remembered from a previous time but most times no, unlike Steve I have a
goldfish memory for most things.
